A Covered Flame - Part FourPerhaps because it had always been the centre of his life, Layton had just assumed that when he got back to Earth that London would be where he turned up at. But this piece of rural countryside was definitely not London.

Those who knew him were proud of his achievements, of course, but overall he was a speck on the importance of society. Just a man making his way through life the best he could. Or that had been what he had thought when he had died.

Layton was not a superstitious person by nature. He believed in archaeology, of what was found buried in the earth. There was no time to ponder the uncertainty of what happened once your life came to an end in his mind, which was already too full of the riddles of what he could see for certain in front of him ev
A Covered Flame - Part TwoThe blaze burned well into the night, with much damage to property and probable loss of life.

There was very little that the police could do about it, short of keeping the bystanders away while the fire department got on with their job. It was horrific. People stood as close as they could, hoping that perhaps the people they knew who lived there might come out alive.

Among that crowd were Dimitri and Claire, although for them the sense of tragedy was mixed with that of puzzlement. It was the lab that started the fire, that much was clear, but they didn't know anything further about what had happened.

FINALLY, I GOT THIS THING FINISHED!

I suppose that I'd better post the story to go along with it now, though it isn't really a long story. Claire was telling me about a dream she'd had, where Grosky & Emmy were having a sparring match, which Emmy was winning, while for some reason Emmy was dressed as a bellydancer. This was clearly epic and needed to be drawn, so I vowed to do just that.

And that is the whole story behind this. XD

It's not a great picture, but it's better than my first attempt at drawing Grosky, at least.

She is a very sexy belly dancer ;D You drew Grosky brilliantly, and I love his expression. It's only occurred to me now that it kind of looks like maybe he's averting his eyes because he can see up Emmy's skirt 8D

Hahaha, WELL. Next time I have a creepy dream I'll be sure and tell you all about it =P So far all I've got is cereal vaults and tidal waves of bees, which probably don't make very interesting subjects for pictures. XD
